Hey Sexies,
It's no secret that most men just don't understand why women need to have more than one pair of shoes. In fact most of them will scoff at the idea of yet another pair of shoes.
I recently spoke with several men both heterosexual and gay and the Gay men seem to get it, My hetero brothers, not so much. One Male friend even posed the question online: Who do women buy shoes for men or other women. The responses he received was in overwhelming support of the latter. Women buy shoes for other women.
One of the worst feelings is to walk into an establishment and see another women in the exact same shoe or outfit. This in my opinion is do to the fact that every woman wants to have that certain sense of style and individuality. Unless you are Diana Ross or Tina Turner and they're several female impersonators looking just like you. In that case it's flattery.
Another man actually said, "my wife doesn't need any more shoes." His friend said the thought of discounted shoes just says more shoes and less closet space to him. I and their women all gasped in disbelief. These men would be both right and wrong. Women don't need more shoes, they want more shoes. And I haven't met the man that doesn't appreciate a confident woman.
The truth of the matter is there is a psychology that goes along with women and their shoes. The most simple form is retail therapy. I maintain that nothing beats the feeling of buying that new shoe and strutting around in it. Thinking of what outfit you'll where with it. And when you walk into a room all eyes will immediately turn to you because you have taken the style bar to the next level. Just then Amelda Marcos and Kim Kardashian walk out of the back room and come right to you and say OMG where did you get that shoe? It's amazing I have got to have it. Everyone then takes your picture, asks for your autograph and the next day you are on the cover of a fashion magazine.
Okay, perhaps I have taken the dreamscape a little too far. However, it is a great feeling to have a new pair of shoes. You stand a little taller and your confidence level rises. You no longer walk, you strut. And if one person compliments you on your style choice, you feel as if you have made the correct fashion decision and you could be on a fashion magazine or at least styling for it.
The rise to a woman's self esteem, in my opinion, is what men find attractive. So whereas men could care less about what women go through to get to this level of confidence, they truly love a confident woman.
To end this argument while speaking to these men, who both had confident women on their arms with beautiful shoes by the way, I brought things down to the basics. I simply ask them to think of things in terms of modes of transportation. If a man could afford to have a different car for everyday of the week, he would. They would have muscle cars, luxury cars, classic cars, fast cars, fixer upper cars, red cars, black cars etcetera. Well shoes for women are less expensive than a car and that is our mode of transportation. We have to get around and we might as well do it in style. The men relented and all agreed that was an excellent analogy.
So men since Mother's day is vastly approaching, I have put together the following top 10 shoe gift ideas. These shoes most resemble new cars based on the top 10 cars on popularmechanics.com. If still in doubt just click on the shoe and buy a gift card.
